Regional Associates
In addition to our full time members, and off-counsel, we also have regional associates- independent lawyers based in regional states that work with us in serving our clients’ matters in the regions. Some of our lawyers have license to practice in the regions, but it is always our policy to retain local co-counsel outside the Federal Jurisdiction. Some of our clients have branches all over the country. Therefore, when we are faced with regional cases, depending on the complexity of the case and the amount involved we use two alternatives. If the case is simple and the amount involved is small in monetary terms, we link our regional associate with our client, and the regional associate provides most of the legal service in the relevant region. This does not mean that we are not involved. We give overall guidance, we prepare the written submissions to be submitted to the regional court, and manage the case from our offices.

Alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
Side by side with our litigation services, we also advise our clients an out of court dispute settlement service such as negotiation and mediation. We strongly believe that business disputes should be settled amicably, and parties should use court litigation as a last resort. We have a strong training and practice background to resolve problems through mediation and/or negotiation.
As part of our ADR practice, we also do a neutral expert evaluation of disputes for parties. We had helped various parties in complex disputes by neutrally evaluating the possible outcomes of their case before courts/arbitral tribunals and helped some of them avoid expensive and time taking litigation.
Company formation
Company formation is part of the package of services we provide our clients. We help our clients in registering trade names, company names, in procuring investment permits, business license and registration, document preparation and authentication and all other activities required for incorporation of companies in Ethiopia. We also assist our clients in immigration and work and residence permit processing when they want to bring expatriate employees into Ethiopia.

Legal Document Preparation
We prepare various types of documents. Primarily we draft memorandum of association and articles of association for our clients. These documents are a formality for a wholly owned company. On the other hand for companies with multiple shareholders with significant shares, we draft a carefully balanced corporate constitution that can serve in creating efficient governance arrangement at the same time protecting a minority shareholder from exploitation. We also draft share purchase agreement, shareholder agreement and various other resolutions. We draft contracts of various types including CEO and senior employee contract that appropriately align employee and company interests.
Litigation and Arbitration
